Mixed Media Class @ AAN

Hi all,

I will be teaching a mixed media art class at the Artists Association this week, Wednesday and Thursday July 14 & 15. Pass the word, I'm hoping to fill the class! Here's the info:

As an artist, educator, and museum administrator, Aylin Green has dedicated her life to creating and sharing art experiences. Her own artwork focuses on mixed media techniques and transforming old materials into paintings and sculpture. Aylin holds a Masters of Ed from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts in Boston, MA, and a BFA in Sculpture from Mason Gross School of the Arts/Rutgers. She has taught classes for adults and children in a variety of media from experimental to traditional in a range of educational settings that include private studios, NJ city and county programs, public schools, and at Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Gallery Associate, Part Time

Looking for Nantucket resident with sales experience and knowledge of art a plus for part time Gallery Associate (GA) primary focus is customer satisfaction and service. The GA administers the the gallery floor, assisting walk-in customers with all sales and general enquiries and handles all phone enquiries. Need to have the ability to provide exceptional service, follow through and coordinate between clientele and administration staff. To work as part of a team and work closely with other team members.    Bonus commission available.  Position starts May 2010 - Mid October.

Baskets Needed for Arts Council

Do you have baskets that are in good shape but that you're no longer using?  The Arts Council needs extra baskets to hold silent auction items at the Shakespeare in the Garden fundraiser in June.  If you'd like to donate baskets, please give Leslie a call at 508-228-7892 or send an e-mail to development@nantucketartscouncil.org.  We're also seeking silent auction item donations and welcome those as well!

Seasonal Museum Guide

The Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum is looking for full and part-time individuals to join our team and become a part of our interpreter program for the summer season. As an affiliate of the Egan Maritime Institute, the museum seeks to facilitate a greater appreciation and understanding of Nantucket maritime history through educational tours and hands-on activities for all ages. If you are an enthusiastic person, enjoy working with the public, have a keen interest in Nantucket maritime history and a love of learning, then this may just be the job for you! Training provided.
